Deadline: Feb. 21, 2011
The Center for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) seeks works of art that reflect the theme of science, and the relationship between art and science.
CMMT is hosting, Higher Aspirations: A Meeting of Art and Science, an exhibition to celebrate the Center’s 15 year anniversary. Featured international artist is Sohan Quadri.
CMMT invites visual artists to submit proposals to showcase their work during this exhibit. CMMT is seeking submissions of two-dimensional artwork in any medium that reflect on the theme of science, and the relationship between art and science. This can be as broad an articulation as you like; we are hoping for challenging, and interesting content. Artwork must be ready to hang on the wall, but not necessarily framed and must be suitable for a wide range of audience. Artists can submit up to 5 pieces of their work that does not exceed 34” in any direction or weigh more than 20 lbs. This is a juried exhibit. Artists that are accepted will be notified in March 2011 and will be required to drop off their selected pieces at CMMT by end of March. All selected artwork will be displayed throughout the Centre for two months. A percentage of the proceeds of sold artwork will benefit the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
