Fermilab is America’s national laboratory dedicated to particle physics research. To initiate and stimulate communication and interactions among scientists, artists and the public, the laboratory has created an Artist in Residence program and seeks applications for the 2017 cycle. The Fermilab artist in residence will interact with scientists at the laboratory, learn about their research, see how it connects to society, and then use this information to create a body of work, ideally leading to presentations in the local community and an exhibition of the artwork at Fermilab and other places. A small stipend will be provided by the Fermi Research Alliance. Currently no housing is available.

Applications and inquires for the 2017 Artist in Residence should be submitted to Art@fnal.gov.
The application period opens May 23, 2016 closes August 23, 2016. Artists might be contacted for an interview and a presentation of examples of their portfolio.
The next residency begins January 2017.
